Uniform

Please ensure that your child has their correct school uniform in the school colours. We are all very proud of our school and our uniform shows the world outside that we are part of St Mary’s. We have a few pink items creeping in and whilst I am myself a fan of all things pink it is not part of our uniform so please keep them for the weekends.

Could you also ensure that if your child wears boots to school they have shoes in the school colours with them to change into as they are not a part of our uniform, are uncomfortable to wear all day and difficult to run around in.

Please also ensure that all items of clothing are clearly labelled with your child’s name and that your child knows where the label is.

Attendance and Punctuality

Regular attendance and punctuality are vital for all children. If children do not attend school regularly and on time, they may not be able to keep up with their learning. In a busy school day it is difficult for teachers to find the extra time to help a child catch up; and it's not only the academic work. Missing out on the social side of school life, especially at primary school, can affect children's ability to make and keep friendships, a vital part of growing up. Setting good attendance and punctuality patterns from an early age will also help your child later on.

Being on time is vital as arriving late at school can be very disruptive for your child, the teacher, and the other children in the class. A child does not enjoy the experience of having to walk into class having missing the beginning of a lesson so please ensure that your child attends  regularly and is on time.
