Dear Parents/Carers,

  Religious Education: Spread the Word

As we are still in Eastertide, we are learning about the joy of the risen Lord and what this means for us.  We have been learning about how the women went to the tomb and spread the message that Jesus is alive.

We are in the month of May and May is devoted to Mary the mother of Jesus.

Home learning:

Please take some time to pray together  the Hail Mary with your child.

Phonics

                  aw words

paw,  jaw, law, lawn, claw, draw, straw, yawn, crawl, jigsaw

High frequency words, some of which are not phonetic and just have to be learnt by sight:

they,  there,  was,  could, little,  children

Please write a sentence for each word with a capital letter and full stop.  Add a conjunction such as ‘and’ ‘because’ ‘or’ ‘so’ ‘but.’  We are focussing on writing sentences with detail by adding adjectives.

Focus on neat handwriting too.

When Mae Jemison was a little child she dreamt of going up to space and she worked very hard in school to make her dream come true!
