Dear Parents/Carers,
Our Celebration Assembly
Thank you to St Francis for the incredible assembly. They have worked very hard.
Our Stars of the Week are: The whole class for their wonderful Assembly in St Francis Class and Reginald in St Martin Class.
Our awards for St Mary’s Way go to: Aubery in St Martin’s Class and Noah in St Francis Class.
We are continuing our topic “Being Sorry”. The children will be learning about how Jesus forgives His friends when they show they are sorry and how he loved everyone. We are trying to do the same by keeping Jesus’ ‘Special Promise’: Love one another as I have loved you. We have learnt how some actions can be accidental and some on purpose. Either way, we apologise sincerely for both.
Home learning: Talk to your child about the importance of saying sorry. Encourage your child to tell you when they have done something wrong and to say sorry. Remind them when they say their prayers to say sorry to Jesus who will always forgive them.

Please write a sentence for each word with a capital letter and full stop. Add a conjunction such as ‘and’ ‘because’ ‘or’ ‘so’ ‘but.’ We are focussing on writing sentences with detail by adding adjectives. Focus on neat handwriting too.
The Lighthouse keeper looked at the time and laid the table with a knife and fork to eat his delicious fish and chips dinner. |
We are thoroughly enjoying this story and have learnt a range of writing from sequencing the story, writing a diary entry as the Lighthouse Keeper to writing a letter from him to a friend. The children are using lots descriptive language and emotive words.
Home learning: Please continue to ensure you are also reading daily with your child as this plays a crucial part in their reading development which in turn supports their learning across the curriculum.
On Purple Mash on the 2Do’s, there is a letter for the children to write from the Lighthouse Keeper to his wife. The children have to include all the punctuation we have learnt: capital letters and full stops, exclamation marks, question marks and also time sequencing words
