Mass and Liturgies

Autumn Term 2023

2nd October - St Therese Class visited the church to celebrate their class feast day.  Father Patrick was able to spare some of his time to come and talk to the children about their very special Saint. 

4th October - St Francis celebrated their feast day by attending 10 o'clock Mass at church. Father James was able to give him time after Mass to take the children around the church. 

St Francis Class also had their class liturgy today with their parents. They taught us all about New Beginnings and how we should trust God to look after us and not be worried.

11th October - St Martin class had their class liturgy with their parents today. They taught us about the Sign and Symbols in Church and how we are Baptised into the Church to be part of God's Family. 

18th October - Reception Classes  and parents Welcome Liturgy. 

21st December Carols by Candle Light -  We ended a very busy term with our annual Carols by Candle light. We heard the story of the first Christmas as we say carols. It was lovely to have the whole of St Mary's family together - children, staff, parents and governors and a wonderful way to begin Christmas. 

Spring Term 2024

17th January- St Bernadette Class had their class liturgy with their parents today. They taught us about  people who are special to us, both at home and in our Parish. We heard the story of The Presentation and each parent spoke about how their children is so special to them and the children told us who is special to them and why. 

24th January - St Therese Class  had their class liturgy with their parents today. They taught us about  people who are special to us, both at home and in our Parish. We heard the story of The Presentation and each parent spoke about how their children is so special to them and the children told us who is special to them and why.

6th March- St George Class had their class liturgy with their parents. Father Patrick was able to join us today and read us the story of the people bringing their little children to see Jesus. The children taught us how and when it is important to gather together to talk about Jesus. Each parent spoke about how much light and joy their children bring to them and the world. 

8th March - Today we celebrated all our wonderful mothers and our Mother Mary. Each year group prepared a song or a poem to perform to all the the mummies. All these songs and poems talked about how kind, caring, helpful and loving our mothers are and to show them how much we care and appreciate them they all went home with a daffodil. 

13th March - St Andrew class had their liturgy with their parents and Father Patrick today. We listened to the story of the people bringing their little children to see Jesus. The children taught us how and when it is important to gather together to talk about Jesus. Each parent spoke about how much light and joy their children bring to them and the world.

25th March - We talked about the stations of the cross. The children listened and responded to each station and were able to reflect on what they had seen and heard.
