Headteacher's Newsletter

Friday 19th June 2026

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we reach the end of another busy week, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the many wonderful things that have taken place across our school.

As always, our classrooms have been filled with enthusiasm, curiosity and hard work. It has been a pleasure to see the children so engaged in their learning and striving to do their very best in all that they do. Their commitment and positive attitude continue to make us incredibly proud.

Alongside their academic learning, many of our pupils have been training exceptionally hard in preparation for next week's athletics events. The determination, perseverance and team spirit they have shown during practices have been inspiring. We wish all of our athletes the very best and look forward to seeing them represent our school with pride.

This week, our Year 3 children led a beautiful Prayer and Liturgy. They spoke and prayed with confidence, reverence and sincerity, helping us all to pause and reflect on God's presence in our lives. Thank you to the parents and family members who were able to join us. Your support and participation help to strengthen the partnership between home, school and parish that is so important to our Catholic community.

This weekend, we celebrate Father's Day. We give thanks for all fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers and the many positive male role models who provide love, guidance, encouragement and support to the children in their lives. We also remember with gratitude those fathers and father figures who are no longer with us but remain forever in our hearts and memories. Above all, we give thanks for God our Father, whose constant love, care and protection guide us every day.

In this Sunday's Gospel (Matthew 10:26–33), Jesus reminds us: "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body." These powerful words encourage us to place our trust in God, knowing that He knows us completely and loves us unconditionally. Whatever challenges we may face, we are never alone. As we move into the week ahead, may we carry this message of courage and trust with us, confident in the knowledge that God walks beside us always.

I wish you all a peaceful and blessed weekend.

Hot Weather Reminders

With warmer weather forecast over the coming days, we would like to remind families of a few important measures to help keep children safe, comfortable and ready to learn during the school day.

  • All children should bring a named water bottle to school each day. Access to drinking water throughout the day is essential in helping children stay hydrated, particularly during periods of hot weather. Please ensure that your child's name is clearly visible on their bottle.
  • We ask parents and carers to apply a long-lasting sun cream to their child before school each morning. School staff are unable to apply sun cream to children, so we recommend using a suitable all-day product where possible. If your child needs to reapply sun cream during the day, they should be able to do so independently and have a clearly named bottle of sun cream in their bag.
  • Children are encouraged to bring a named sun hat to wear during breaktimes, lunchtimes and outdoor learning activities. A hat provides valuable protection from the sun and helps children stay comfortable when spending time outdoors.
  • Please ensure that children attend school in the correct summer uniform and have suitable footwear for outdoor activities. We will continue to make use of shaded areas where possible and encourage regular water breaks throughout the day.

Thank you for your support in helping us keep all children safe and well during the warmer weather. By working together, we can ensure that everyone remains healthy, comfortable and able to enjoy their learning.
